Fairmont Ambassador Seoul
Throughout December: Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, the iconic luxury destination in western Seoul, celebrates the coming festive season with the Grand Festive Buffet Menu, ideal for enjoying with partners, families and friends at all-day dining restaurant Spectrum.
Spectrum is a unique buffet dining destination serving diverse Eastern and Western dishes. Grand Festive Buffet Menu will feature Spectrum’s epicurean regular selection with special additions of beef tomahawk, honey-glazed festive ham (dinner times only), and festive desserts. The à la carte menu of mains will feature a choice of beef short ribs, papillotte, and pumpkin gnocchi.
On Dec. 24, 25 and 31, Spectrum will serve special Christmas and New Year’s Eve menus. Festive menu additions on these three days include roast turkey, honey-glazed festive ham, and a special selection of Christmas desserts, as well as unlimited servings of non-alcoholic beverages. À la carte mains choices will include traditional British festive favorite beef wellington, crafted with premium hanwoo beef. Dinner buffet guests will also be offered a glass of sparkling wine.
From Nov. 16 to 30: The Atrium Lounge at Fairmont Ambassador Seoul presents an early bird offer of 10 percent savings for customers placing advance Christmas cake orders between Nov. 16 and 30.
This year’s Christmas selection features two unique cake creations. Santa cakes are crafted from chocolate mousse filled with mixed berry monté cream, with feuilletine added to the mousse for an irresistible crunchy texture. The Santa face atop the cake contains mini chocolates, conjuring the thrill of discovering hidden surprises. The opera log cake, a traditional festive favorite, is crafted in the shape of a log from dark chocolate ganache with coffee aromas and soft pastry cream.
Advance payment is required during the early bird promotional period; cancellation is also offered free of charge during this period. Pre-ordered cakes can be picked up from the hotel between Dec. 16 and 25.
Meanwhile, stollen bread and gugelhupf cakes will be available to purchase from Nov. 16 to Dec. 25. Stollen is a traditional German Christmas bread crafted from roasted whole hazelnuts and a variety of dried fruits soaked in liquor, while gugelhupf is a crown-shaped bread made with raisins soaked in liquor and butter for a soft, moist texture. Stollen and gugelhupf are crafted by Fairmont Ambassador Seoul’s own pastry chefs.
The Atrium Lounge is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Advance reservations can be placed via The Atrium Lounge’s Naver Booking account.
From Nov. 14: Fairmont Ambassador Seoul has opened autumn sales of its own honey, produced as part of Bee Sustainable, a flagship Fairmont program, from Nov. 14 until stocks are sold out.
Fairmont Ambassador Seoul installed beehives at a location in the city’s Yongsan District upon opening last year, in order to promote healthy urban ecosystems and help protect honeybees. The hotel harvests fresh honey two to three times each year.
Embodying Fairmont’s spirit of protecting local ecosystems, this autumn’s crop of Fairmont honey is available to purchase at The Atrium Lounge on the hotel’s first floor. Made by bees visiting myriad wildflowers on the slopes of central Seoul’s Mount Namsan, Fairmont honey has been certified as safe for consumption by Korea Beekeeping Association. Offering the perfect gift for friends and family members, it is sold in sets of two 50 gram jars, priced at 30,000 won ($23), including tax.
“We plan to continue our efforts to promote coexistence between people and bees in the urban environment,” said Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Executive Chef Marco Torre. “We are passionate about creating limited-edition honey products each time we harvest a new crop of honey from our urban beehives, helping raise awareness among our guests of the value of honeybees.”
