Grand Hyatt Seoul
Announcement: Down the spiral staircase from the Grand Hyatt Seoul lobby, a speakeasy bar is located behind the symbolic lamb — Mouton Transhumant (1988) by Francois-Xavier Lalanne. This bar — as its name, “The Paris Bar,” suggests — takes guests to the elegant streets of Paris, the city of romance and dreams.
The Paris Bar is re-opening on Sept. 23. With The Paris Bar’s classic luxury French elements, it offers carefully selected French labels, ranging from a wide assortment of French wines and exceptional natural wines to a limited selection of whiskies and cognac. Alongside original French liquors, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut, an exclusive champagne only available at Hyatt properties in Korea, can be experienced.
Cocktails including classic French drinks highlight The Paris Bar’s signature creations. They not only impress guests with their taste but also with their inspiring backstories. The Paris Side Car, which is assumed to have been invented in Paris during the World War I era, is recreated by the bar’s mixologist to have a milder and savory taste while still retaining its original strong impression. The famous Serendipity, which is originally from Bar Hemingway of The Ritz-Carlton, Paris, has also been reinterpreted by adding Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut champagne, making the cocktail The Paris Bar’s exclusive drink.
While you sip on your drinks, The Paris Bar adds extra pleasure to the entertaining evening with a delightful selection of French-inspired snacks including croque monsieur, lobster Niçoise salad, crème brulée and canelés.
