Ballad singer Baek Z Young cancels Nov. 5 concert
Ballad singer Baek Z Young, who was gearing up to hold a concert in Cheongju, North Chungcheong, on Nov. 5, has decided to cancel the concert.
“Due to the tragedy that took place in Itaewon, singer Baek Z Young’s scheduled concert ‘Go Baek’ that was to be held in Cheongju on Nov. 5 has been canceled,” Baek’s label Tri-Us Entertainment announced on Tuesday.
“We are sorry if the news comes as a disappointment for the fans who have been looking forward to the concert, but we hope you understand the situation.”
Baek also expressed her devastation about the whole situation through her label.
“I am deeply saddened by what has happened in Itaewon. I want to send my deepest condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones in the tragedy. For my fans who feel disappointed about the cancellation, I also want to apologize,” Baek wrote.
The label said those who purchased tickets to Baek’s Cheongju concert will receive a full refund. Announcements on how to receive the refund have been made to all purchasers via different ticketing platforms, the label said.
The 46-year-old singer debuted in 1999 with her solo album “Sorrow.” She has an array of heartbreak hits, such as “I Won’t Love” (2005) and “Like Being Shot by a Bullet” (2008). She married actor Jung Suk-won in 2013 and gave birth to their daughter in 2017.
