Documentary about SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo-man to be produced by Amazon
Lee Soo-man, the founder and chief producer of K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment, will have a documentary film made about him, produced by Amazon Prime Video.
According to an exclusive report by Deadline, Amazon Prime Video is working on a feature documentary titled “Lee Soo Man: The King of K-pop.”
Director Ting Poo said that the film will be “chronicling the enthralling life of a bold visionary whose work put his country on the map, sparked a global movement, and continues to define an era.”
“A futurist and visionary on the scale of Steve Jobs, Lee is more than a music impresario. He is a world-builder and a technologist whose original creation has taken over global entertainment, one K-pop band at a time.”
The date of release has not yet been announced.
Lee founded SM Entertainment in 1989, which has produced many K-pop stars such as singer BoA, boy band NCT and girl groups Red Velvet and aespa.
