Girl group Dreamcatcher to release new album in May
Dreamcatcher will wrap up its “Apocalypse” saga with a new album set for release in May, announced the girl group’s agency Dreamcatcher Company on Friday.
“Dreamcatcher’s comeback in May has been confirmed and the girl group is currently preparing,” a statement from the agency reads.
The upcoming album will be a continuation of the girl group’s last EP, “Apocalypse: Follow us” released in Sept. 2022 and will wrap up the three-album Apocalypse Series started by “Save us” (2022), the girl group’s second full-length album, completing a chapter in the girl group’s unique fictional universe.
The seven-member girl group debuted in 2017 with a dark-fantasy dystopia theme unique in K-pop, garnering a loyal fandom, especially outside of Korea. The girl group has been gaining popularity locally with its recent releases, scoring its first No. 1 on a music show with “Maison” last year on MBC M’s “Show! Champion.”
The group has seven members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon. It has released songs like “Chase Me” (2017), “Full Moon” (2018), “Over the Sky” (2019), “Scream” (2020), “Odd Eye” (2021) and “Maison” (2022).
All seven members of the girl group renewed their exclusive contracts with their agency in 2022.
