Girl group NewJeans to release its new EP ‘OMG’ on Jan. 2
Girl group NewJeans will release its new EP “OMG” on Jan. 2, its agency ADOR said Thursday through fan community app Phoning and social media channels.
“OMG” will consist of a lead track that did not make it onto the group’s first full-length album “New Jeans” (2022) and other tracks that the group dedicates to Bunnies, the name of its fans.
“If ‘New Jeans’ was summer-themed, this will show NewJeans’ winter side,” said Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR.
NewJeans will pre-release one of the songs from “OMG” on Dec. 19.
NewJeans debuted in August and has been soaring in popularity. It set a new record for a debuting K-pop group by selling 311,271 copies of its first EP “New Jeans” in a week. Songs “Attention,” “Hype Boy” and “Cookie” have landed on the music charts of Billboard and Spotify.
The group has five members: Hanni, Minji, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein.
