IVE to release Japanese version of ‘Eleven’ ahead of official debut in Japan
Girl group IVE released a Japanese version of its track “Eleven” on Monday and announced it will make an official debut in Japan on Oct. 19.
The group also released a new music video for “Eleven” for its Japanese fans. The Korean version of the song, which was IVE’s debut single, was released last December and quickly became a hit. The physical album sold 152,229 copies in the first week after its release, marking the most sales for a debuting artist in Korea in 2021.
IVE’s Japanese debut comes as the girl group has been seeing an increasing number of fans in Japan. IVE has made numerous appearances on TV programs since late last year including “Mejamashi TV,” “Pop Up!” and “Mejamashi 8.” The group is set to appear on NHK’s special program “Songs + Plus” on Sept. 23.
IVE debuted in December 2021 with members Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo. After releasing hit songs “Eleven” (2021) and “Love Dive” (2022), the group are now one of the most successful fourth-generation K-pop acts.
