Korean quartet Forestella to sing at Kim Yuna and Ko Woo-rim’s wedding
Korean crossover quartet Forestella will sing a love serenade for Olympic gold medalist figure skater Kim Yuna and singer Ko Woo-rim’s wedding, slated to take place this Saturday.
Ko is a member of the quartet.
The quartet had been asked by numerous reporters whether Forestella, including the groom, will perform during the wedding ceremony, but they had kept a low profile, either making no comment or saying that nothing has been decided yet.
The group finally confirmed Wednesday that the quartet, including the groom, will sing for the bride at the wedding.
Kim surprised her large fandom in July by announcing through her management company that she will tie the knot in October with Ko, her boyfriend of three years. Kim and Ko first met in 2018 during an ice skating show, at which Ko’s vocal group performed.
Kim, now retired, is a legend in Korean figure skating and a well-respected athlete. She won the gold medal in the ladies’ singles at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and the silver medal in the ladies’ singles at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, among many other honors in international championships throughout her career. She retired in 2014.
Ko is a singer and member of Forestella. The quartet was formed through season 2 of JTBC’s competition program Phantom Singer. Ko is a graduate of Seoul National University’s College of Music.
