Woman arrested in Ulsan in relation to dead children found in suitcases in New Zealand
A woman believed to be related to two children found dead in suitcases in New Zealand in August was arrested in Ulsan early today, according to local news channel YTN.
The woman in her 40s was arrested at an apartment in Ulsan around 1 a.m. today on charges of murder, said the Korean police.
Korean authorities said a court will decide whether or not to extradite her to New Zealand.
The bodies of the two children, who were believed to be aged five and 10 at the time of their deaths, were discovered by a family who purchased two suitcases from an online auction at a storage facility in South Auckland, according to New Zealand news reports.
Authorities estimate the bodies had been in the suitcases for three to four years.
