KCON goes to Saudi Arabia for first time
A Korean culture festival will be held in Saudi Arabia next month, according to CJ ENM on Sunday.
“KCON 2022 Saudi Arabia” is scheduled to be held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Boulevard Riyadh City. It is the first time for KCON to be held in Saudi Arabia since it was founded in 2012.
The festival will feature boy bands Ateez, The Boyz, TO1, P1Harmony, Pentagon and Oneus; girl groups NewJeans, STAYC and Secret Number; and solo artists Sunmi, Rain and Hyolyn.
KCON is also set to be held at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo from Oct. 14 to 16.
Last month, the festival concluded a three-day run in Los Angeles.
According to CJ ENM, a total of 7.17 million people from 176 nations participated both offline and online during “KCON 2022 LA.” Approximately 90,000 fans attended events in the Los Angeles’ LA Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena, while 7.08 million fans watched via YouTube and Tving.
KCON offers concerts and cultural booths for fans of K-pop, K-dramas and other K-culture content. In 2020 and 2021, all events were held online due to Covid-19.
