Royal march including Scots Guards to take place on Sunday
A royal march will take place on Sunday from 2 p.m. from Gwanghwamun to Seoul Plaza in central Seoul.
Seoul Metropolitan government announced Thursday that the Scots Guards from the United Kingdom will be visiting Seoul and hold a special event together with the palace guards of Korea.
According to the city government, 50 members of the Scots Guards will be joined by 60 members of the Royal Palace Guards and 33 members of the Traditional Guard of Honor. They will carry out the changing of the guards ceremony in front of Gungnyemun Gate at 2 p.m. and begin a parade toward Seoul Plaza.
Because of the parade, Saejongdaero, the street next to the refurbished Gwanghwamun Plaza, will be closed until 2:45 p.m.
“We hope the ceremony will become motivation to improve our relationship and for an enhanced cultural interaction between the two countries,” said Joo Yong-tae, the general director of the city’s tourism policies.
