SK hynix completes verification for its LPDDR5T DRAM chip
SK hynix completed a verification test of its latest mobile dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chip LPDDR5T with Taiwanese application processor (AP) designer MediaTek.
The Korean memory chip maker said Thursday the verification test has been completed after it submitted samples of its DRAM chip to MobileTek back in February 2023.
LPDDR5T is supposedly the fastest mobile DRAM chip to date, with the ability to process 9.6 gigabytes of data per second. The chip was tested using the highest model in MediaTek’s Dimensity Platform chipset.
LPDDR5T is currently undergoing the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council’s standardization process.
“The partnership with MediaTek has played a significant role in LPDDR5T’s market entry,” according to Ryu Sung-soo, head of SK hynix’s DRAM product planning.
The LPDDR5T DRAM is expected to begin mass production this year.
