YG unveils sixth member of BabyMonster, confirms group will have 7 members

Pharita, the sixth member of the upcoming girl group BabyMonster, has been revealed through a performance video uploaded Thursday morning on the agency’s YouTube channel.
 
Pharita, the 17-year-old trainee, is the second member of the group from Thailand, along with Chiquita.
 
In the black-and-white video, the trainee performed “What Other People Say” (2021) by the Australian singer-songwriter Sam Fischer and American singer Demi Lovato.  
 
The band agency’s YG Entertainment said that the trainee is fluent in both Thai and English, having studied at an international school and also studied Korean for multiple years.
 
YG finally confirmed in a press release Thursday that the girl group will have seven members — three Korean members, Haram, Ahyeon, Rora, two Thai members, Chiquita, Pharita and two Japanese members, Asa and another Japanese member yet to be announced.
 
Pharita’s performance video had already surpassed a million views in under 12 hours, while the official YouTube channel for the upcoming group has reached 660,000 subscribers and the total view count has reached over a hundred million views.
